Welcome to Northern Star Foundation, a community-rooted nonprofit serving children and youth dealing with grief and with a focused commitment to mentoring foster and kinship youth. We exist because no one should have to navigate grief, identity, or life transitions alone. Through FREE grief support programs and foster care mentorship, we walk alongside children, teens, and families during some of life's most difficult seasons.​

 

Our programs support youth experiencing living loss, placement transitions, and identity disruption, while equipping them with tools that build social, emotional, and developmental resilience.​

 

Northern Star is more than a program. It is a growing network of mentors, grief-informed facilitators, families, and community partners committed to strengthening identity, emotional wellness, and long-term outcomes for youth navigating complex life experiences.​
